About the event
Paul Loether is a “Pete Seeger-style” singer/songwriter and fingerstyle guitarist whose expressive vocals cover a broad range of traditional and contemporary folk music. His usually topical originals are well-crafted and often feature humorous, and sometimes pointed lyrics [see: He's the Donald (youtube.com)]. Paul has performed as a solo artist throughout much of southern New England and the Washington, DC, area; for many years, he was also a lead vocalist, guitarist, and stand-up bass player for the popular Maryland-based band, Silver Strings MD [See: Dark Hollow Silver Strings Teavolve 20171016 (youtube.com)].
Kipp Sturgeon is an exceptional, master multi-instrumentalist, who favors a diverse repertoire of folk, calypso, old jazz standards, pop and soft rock, and Broadway, Hollywood, and TV show tunes. Kipp started playing guitar and banjo when he was 10; had his first paying gig at 13; was playing regularly with a “bar band” by 16. In the 1980s/1990s, Kipp played regularly with a wedding /lounge band; since then, he continues to play as a strolling restaurant musician. He also currently performs as part of several area duos/trios [see: Baby Its Cold Outside (youtube.com)]. With his guitar, banjo, and/or ukelele, Kipp is also currently a much-loved performer at the area’s nursing home and senior-citizen community circuits.
Admission - $10.00/pp. Free parking is readily available along adjacent Lyme Street. Refreshments will be available. Seating is limited; advance ticket purchase recommended.
