About the event
JOSI DAVIS has been performing and writing songs since she was eight years old. The youngest daughter of a career military musician and an English major, she grew up traveling, writing and harmonizing around the family piano. She carried on, flying about North America and parts of Europe through her 20s, gathering stories, words and food for the muse, teaching herself guitar and singing for tips. She landed in New England in time to be doused in a rich Blues, Rock and Soul scene and dove headfirst into gigging, songwriting and studio sessions, winning Foxwoods’ first ever BETSY award, New London’s Whalie Award for “Ivy Grows” from her debut album, The Evolution of Love and dominating Toronto airwaves, for weeks on Wave.fm’s Top 10 list with “Calling” from Love/Rain. She’s been featured in Grace Magazine, Sound Waves Magazine and has appeared at the Boston Folk Festival, the New York Songwriter Festival and the Mystic Blues Festival.
JOSI DAVIS has been touring, teaching and recording for near 20 years. She soon celebrates the studio release of Salt Pond Poets, a collaboration with songwriter Chris Boyd and producer/engineer Bob Cowley, along with contributions to The Jazz Warriors 2023 release and two super cute kid’s songs with Paper Bagg Productions. She is already back in the studio and looks forward to sharing whatever her next visit from the Muse decides to become.
